Ring Day 2021

A special day for Cobbers.

November is a special time that is awaited by Juniors and Seniors alike. Ring day is a moment of recognition for all of the work these determined students have done within the last two to three years of their college career.

The Importance of the Cobber Ring

The Cobber ring is more than just a ring. It is the most common bond between alumni and the college. The ring sends a powerful message that is cherished by Cobbers across the globe.

There are Cobber Alumni and their rings in 78 different countries, with 86 residing in Norway, 125 in Canada, and 46 in Saudi Arabia, Ghana, and Singapore combined.

In fact, wearing a Cobber ring can result in some bizarre/amazing connections between Cobber alumni. With that in mind, let's hear from some Concordia Graduates who have had these experiences. Cobber Alumni were asked, "Where have you seen Cobber Rings?"

Tina S. said, “One of my patients. He dated my grandmother in college and I wear her ring now. Crazy to think those rings had been in the same room almost 70 years ago.” Another alumni, Kara D.J stated, On a sailboat on the Great Barrier Reef in Australia! A man came up to me and said, ‘You must be a good Scandinavian Lutheran,’ then proceeded to show me his ring! Crazy. Such a small and amazing world."

These are just a couple of the stories that have been shared over the years that show the connection between alumni and the college.

The Cobber ring is powerful, recognizable, and valued by the graduates of Concordia College. The ring day tradition has lasted for over a century, and will continue connecting Cobbers many years into the future.
